Sir:
I wanted you to know that I had one
domestic case where I dealt with Mr. Scartz regarding his diversion program. I
found it to be an excellent idea and told him so myself. It saved time
from worrying about a case that probably would have been continued numerous
times, wasting my time as well as the victim’s. He kept me informed of the
progress and I knew well in advance if I had to prepare my case or not. In another
case he informed me it didn’t meet his standards and instead of my then having
to scramble and issue a subpoena in a timely manner, he even takes care of the
subpoena himself and tells you that it will go forth on your court date. I
believe when a subject can deal with Mr. Scartz outside of court, there’s a
higher chance of compliance.
My experience with him and the program has
been positive, and I hope it stays part of the domestic court process. I see no
downside for the officer involved.
